In a few short months, the decisions and actions made by the next administration will have generational implications–not for just two or four years, but for decades to come. We must summon the courage to dream bigger to create a generational vision of collective care and belonging that will also have profound, far-reaching impact. We need a vision for the next 25 years—not just a reactionary response.

This moment calls for shared imagination, focus, and heart that cuts across traditional silos and ecosystems of social impact, such as philanthropy, nonprofits, social enterprise, policy advocacy, movement spaces, interfaith-based initiatives, etc. It asks us to hold space for the hardest questions, curiosity, introspection—not to rush for answers, but to sit with the humility of not having them all. We must pause, listen deeply, and tend to the soil so we can grow something radically different.

This is also a time for moral clarity and creativity—a bias towards action that is anchored in love and fueled by the anticipation of what our collective strength can produce. Although money alone cannot be our guide, philanthropy must show up to engage in long term, flexible, experimental resourcing and with a learning orientation.

Finally, we must continue to invest boldly in the most historically under-resourced leaders and organizations who are most proximate to the challenges and opportunities of this moment—the true architects of change. At the LeadersTrust, we are committed to this challenge of radically reimagining and building a different path forward with you. We know that this time, it must be collective.

Will you join us?

Here are some questions to consider.

  • How might we all commit to breaking down silos and building bridges across sectors—philanthropy, grassroots movement leaders, intermediaries, and practitioners?
  • How might we create new forms of resourcing our movements beyond the 501c3 structures?
  • How might we lean on artists, storytellers, and spiritual tools to ground our work?
  • How might we use this moment as a catalyst for transformational change in our sector?

What else might you add?

Let’s do things differently. Together.
